Welcome to Wired for Happy! a website devoted to improving personal development and positive emotions.
Who: I’m Linda Esposito, LCSW, a therapist, speaker and writer. For four years I blogged at TalkTherapyBiz about overcoming anxiety and unhealthy relationships. This is the new home where we talk mental wellness in frank terms, and (fingers crossed) trade in our collective Xanax dependence for rewiring the ‘happy’ synapses. You can also find me @ the Huffington Post and Psychology Today, and frequently interviewed on CNN.com.
What: Team Happy is the membership portion of Wired for Happy dedicated to ‘rewiring’ unhealthy habits like worrying what others think about you (P.S. — not as much as you think), negative thoughts keeping you stuck (Good news — you created ’em, you CAN uncreate ’em), feeling like a ball of nerves (Hello 3:00 a.m., nice to see you again! said no one ever), and much more. This resource is for people who want a roadmap to calm and happy. The digital library has videos, Mp3 audios, and downloadable Course Notes + resources. Every month we focus on a new theme, and there’s bimonthly office hours where members get to speak with me directly about all-things mental health. Yay!
Why: The purpose of Wired for Happy is to increase the frequency of positive moods so you experience healthier relationships. The most important relationship is with yourself. Above and beyond, it’s about being comfortable with your truth. Not the edited reality version we see so much of on social media (not that I don’t enjoy a good Facebook feed!).
When you understand why you see the world the way you do, and why you react the way you do, it’s easier to change your outlook. Most of my therapy clients come for counseling for three things: Get more fun out of life, develop healthier thoughts so that indecisiveness and insecurity don’t take up too much brain space, and better sleep.
How: Click here to join. You’re 30-seconds away from getting on the other side of anxiety + meeting up with more positive emotions and experiences. And, some really cool people:
Tracey Cleantis, relationship expert, therapist and author kicks us off with amazing advice and some damn fine tips on “Dealing With Difficult Family Gatherings.” Because, holidays.
“Money is Not The Point” with entrepreneur extraordinaire, Corbett Barr. Because money + mental health are so tied.
“Get Out of Your Own Way!” Erika Napoletano, brand expert, author, and speaker offers up straightforward advice on finding your truth, and getting rid of the crap cluttering your life, which includes people 😛
Besides interviews, every monthly theme includes:
- Video tutorials
- Mp3 audios
- Course Notes (PDF)
- Email support
If ‘community mental wellness’ is not your thing, no problem. There’s lots of articles about positive psychology, anxiety advice and parenting support, which is always free. The best way to stay up to date is to sign up for weekly updates.
